National Water animal of India

Indian government has declared dolphin as India’s National water animal. This was proposed and moved by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar .

“Like the tiger
as national animal and the peacock as national bird, we have declared the dolphin as the national aquatic animal. It represents the health of the rivers, particularly the Ganga,” environment and forest minister Jairam Ramesh said after the first meeting of the National Ganga River Basin Authority chaired by PM Manmohan Singh.

After this declaration the government is expected to start a “Project Dolphin” to save the this species for getting extincted. This species is different from other sea dolphins.

It is announced publically by Forest Minister Shri Jai Ram Ramesh that Dolphin is decided as National Water Animal aka Rashtriya Jal Jeeva.

Dolphin is found in Ganga River at Bihar in India. Dolphin is the Most Lovers and Friends of Humans.
